Charming Shadows

Now the farm needed a name so I toyed with the horses names and Charming Shadows life on the farm began.  It took alot of hard work but we cleaned up the barn, cleaned up the field, fixed fences and a short while later the horses came home.

fixing the barn
I will never forget one warm sunny morning i looked in the field and both horses were laying down.  I ran out to the barn thinking that something horrible had happened.  as i flung open the barn doors both horses lazily lifted their head and looked at me and then rolled and gently got up and came to me.  They were sleeping, they were content they too were also home.

Great times on the farm continued, trail rides, gardening, barn chores, mushroom picking, quad rides, cutting trails and exploring our piece of heaven. A few years later the children got older and began their lives, I wanted another baby so we decided to breed our beautiful mare.  We carefully chose a Champiom Quarter Horse named Hot N Blazin' from the States.

Char's baby daddy via artificial insemination

Char was inseminated a few times and finally she became pregnant. In early May of 2008 Char gave birth to her first foal.  A bay stud colt which we formally named My Flames Blazn'Hot "Booboo".

I spent every waking hour with Booboo.  I played with him and through play began conditioning him and desensitized him.  As he got older he became a gorgeous tall, dark bay who was sweet gentle and kind.

We acquired a big bay stallion named Principle Strider to be Char's next baby daddy and eventhough the breeding process was new to us it was a success.  Charmer's Investment "Leroy" was born the next May.  Another dark bay stud colt, we now had our two horses that would live and ride on the farm until we were old and we would all retire together.
